Gregory Crewdson

This picture by Gregory Crewdson is my favorite, it does not have a title but was taken the summer of 2006. It's a great picture i believe, it follows many guidelines that we talked about in class and they really help the picture. The trees and the bridge frame the photo which helps you focus on the little boy, but then you notice the little boy is looking up so you follow his head and look at the top of the photo. Also, the dirt path the boy is on, really shows depth in the picture because you can see it fading away behind the boy. I really like how Gregory used all these guidelines to help really enhance his photo. It looks like he blurred the boy and the woods behind him, and really focused in on the trees and the bridge in front, which also help create the depth in the picture. In many of his other photos Gregory really uses the line guideline to help his picture to become what it is. Also, he usually uses more than one of the guidelines which i really like, because it makes the picture so much more. Out of the four artists we had to choose from, Gregory Crewdson is by far my favorite.
